give users to option to receive the news letter or not. some users may not want to receive it.

I agree with this as well. The user should have a check box in their Preferences page to subscribe/unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Having an "unsubscribe" button would be fantastic so I don't have to ask each person if they want to receive it or not.

Theres an unsubscribe button at the bottom of the newsletter
