Implement eBook requests
Readarr from the -Arr team is slowly shaping up and other alternatives such as LazyLibrarian have been available for a while.
While I think it would make most sense to focus on the implementation of Readarr, it is still far from finished.
It would be nice to first implement the request type without necessarily having the backends implemented yet, and use GoodReads (or whichever "database" there is for books really) for the references.
This would already allow me to "take" requests and fulfill them manually until a backend would be implemented
(p.s. i swear I made a request for this but I cannot find it using search, not sure where it went. Please delete it if you can find the original)

flying_sausages MergedReadarr is in development, and it would be nice to already start adding "Books" as a media type that is requestable. Goodreads is an overall good metadata aggregator that could serve well for this manner.
My personal use-case would already benefit from not having to get ISBNs from my users in chats. -

mikeI think the focus should be on supporting readarr. While lazy librarian is more feature filled, its also a nightmare to use. Once readarr has another couple years under its belt im sure it will surpass lazy librarian and support for it in ombi will also encourage development.

FlathThis would be great, if there would be a way for each title to be approved for E/Audiobook that would be even better IMO

ShaneThis could probably make use of libgen.is too! That has been the most reliable site I have found for finding and downloading books (particularly textbooks).

RutskiukLazyLibrarian would be preferable as it is stable and well supported by the devs

LewisGoodreads are no longer accepting new API registrations with a plan to phase out (maybe replace?) the API over the next year or so. Google books may be a better repository of metadata going forward.

MARI'm really looking forward to this! Right now ebooks are the only type of media that I need to manually open anything other than Ombi to request

CiaranIs there any movement on this? Do we have any details about this update yet? Not being pushy just curious if I've missed anything. Take your time if not! :)

Jamie Rees AdminSo to give an update on this. This is not planned in the short term. Short term we are reworking some of the music side of things so there is a better experience in Ombi.
Adding another different media type into Ombi is no small feat, and I want to make sure it's done right and not half baked.
