Yeah agreed, I have submitted to Rotten Tomatoes an application to use their API. Just need to wait for a response from them.

OMDB (open movie database), can also be queried for the rotten tomato ratings. Best to get straight from the source I'm sure, but an alternative source if needed. I use OMDB's API just for rotten tomatoes.

It would be great if there was an option for the search interface to display whether a movie or TV show is available to stream on popular streaming services.

Services like JustWatch and Reelgood can provide this data, though it looks like you'd have to contact them for API access.
